Belsize Community Library

Award-winning, community-led, and steeped in history

Belsize Community Library is more than just a place to borrow books; it is a lively neighbourhood hub dedicated to learning, creativity, and connection. We rescued the library from closure in 2012 and has since evolved into a celebrated cornerstone of the community.

In 2025, we were honoured to receive the Community Heritage Award at the Locality Awards, recognised by Historic England for our work in revitalising our beautiful Grade II listed building to enrich local lives.

Families

Family matters. Parents and carers can visit us to connect and get advice, or drop in to enjoy playtime with their children. We also support families living in temporary accommodation, offering safe spaces and activities that ease the pressure and bring moments of joy.

Children

We provide safe and fun activities for primary school children, from after-school clubs to holiday play schemes. These programmes help children build confidence, make friends, and develop the skills they need as they grow.

Young People

Our youth programmes give young people the space to be themselves, try new things, and support each other. We help them build confidence, explore opportunities, and shape the futures they want.

Communities

We believe in the power of community-led change. Our projects bring people together to take action, strengthen connections, and make their local area a better place for everyone.

Belsize Community Library

Belsize Community Library is a welcoming hub for the local community. Located on Antrim Road, it’s a lively centre offering activities for all ages, from baby classes and crafts to martial arts and holiday events.
