Belsize Climate Change Public Assembly
25 September, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

It’s a climate emergency!
But what does that mean, what can we do, and how do we know if we’re making a difference?
While it’s clear that we’re in a time of climate crisis, it’s less clear how we’re going to react to this pressing threat.
Belsize Library will host a discussion to talk about the challenge that lies ahead of us, and how we can find the hope and courage to start making a difference. We will be joined by activists from our local Extinction Rebellion group, and hear from actor, opera singer, and environmentalist Martin Nelson about Earth Day and the equinox. We’ll have performances, too, from beloved local musician Caroline Chan. We will also hear from Andrew Thornton of Belsize Park Budgens, the first local supermarket to go plastic-free. The event will be chaired by Professor Tom Selwyn from SOAS.
