We are very proud that a previous participant in The Company has her very own book launch next month! Sadia Conteh-Mosere has written 'Single Mother- Breaking the Stereotype', based on the true story of Sadia's road to unplanned single motherhood. The book tackles the common issues faced by single mothers in today’s modern society and challenges negative stigmas. The launch is on Thursday 23rd March and tickets can be found here.
Is your company thinking of linking with a small charity which supports children and young people? Nice idea! As well as encouraging individuals and families to contribute to our work, we welcome local businesses and other organisations who want to invest in our - and their - local community.
The Winch Family believe that all corporate-charity relationships should be mutually beneficial, which is why we make sure that our corporate partnerships are never a one-way street. You can have a look at our one-page summary here.
If you would like to contribute funds or resources, participate in a community event or fundraiser, speak to young people about careers and opportunities, or even look at developing a piece of joint social enterprise work, we would be very interested in hearing from you.
Employee engagement initiatives can be a great way to increase motivation and satisfaction across your workforce.
We have some wonderful employee engagement opportunities at The Winch. On our Volunteering page, you will see just some of the ways you can get your employees on board - all of which can be tailored to suit your organisation. For more information please contact Page, our Build the Village Coordinator.
Giving through your payroll is a simple, tax effective way to support our work.
Payroll giving enables you to make regular or one-off donations directly from your gross salary (i.e. before tax is deducted). This means that if you donate £25 it will only cost you £13.75 if you are a higher rate tax payer, £15 if you pay tax at 40% and £20 if you pay tax at 20%.
Your company might also have a policy for matching all payroll giving donations, so your £25 donation that cost you £13.75 (or £15 or £20) could be nearly quadrupled to £50!
You can find more information on payroll giving here.
Our bright orange collection boxes are great for shops, companies or at reception desks and we have #promise wristbands available to raise funds and spread the word too!
If you would like to show your support for the Winch and help us raise our profile, please contact Page.
